Trump Signals Possible Iran Peace Deal as Tehran Urges Caution

Hopes for a breakthrough in the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict rose on Friday after President Donald Trump indicated that a peace agreement could be finalized within days, although Iranian officials insist that key issues remain unresolved.

According to reports, negotiations mediated by regional partners have produced a draft memorandum aimed at ending months of hostilities, reopening vital shipping routes, and creating a framework for future nuclear talks. Sources familiar with the discussions say the proposed agreement could potentially be signed in Geneva as early as this weekend.

The draft framework reportedly includes provisions for easing U.S. sanctions on Iran, reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, and extending a ceasefire across several conflict zones in the Middle East. The agreement is also expected to pave the way for renewed discussions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.

Despite growing optimism from Washington, Tehran has rejected suggestions that a final agreement has already been reached. Iranian officials stated that several critical elements of the proposal are still under review and emphasized that negotiations remain ongoing.

The uncertainty has not prevented global markets from reacting positively. Oil prices fell sharply after Trump’s remarks, with investors anticipating that a successful agreement could restore stability to energy supplies and ease tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transit routes.

Meanwhile, military tensions have yet to fully subside. Reports indicate that hostilities and security incidents continue in parts of the region, highlighting the fragile nature of the diplomatic process. Analysts caution that while negotiations appear to be advancing, signusficant political and security challenges remain before a lasting settlement can be achieved.

Trump has repeatedly expressed confidence that a deal is close, describing negotiations as being in their final stages. However, previous attempts to secure a comprehensive agreement have faced setbacks, prompting observers to remain cautious until a formal signing takes place.
