Released on 17 April via Warner Music France, the album brings together an impressive lineup of international collaborators, including Wizkid, Angélique Kidjo, Joé Dwèt Filé, DJ Maphorisa, Calema and KeBlack.
The project is anchored by the lead single Jam, featuring Wizkid, alongside previously released track Cinéma. Production credits include notable names such as Trésor Riziki, Dany Synthé and Seysey, contributing to the album’s polished, cross-continental sound.
XX follows Ipupa’s previous album Formule 7, which earned gold certification and reinforced his commercial appeal. The new project blends contemporary pop, R&B and Afrobeats with the signature guitar-driven essence of Congolese rumba—a genre that remains central to his artistic identity.
Over the past 20 years, Ipupa has built a formidable global presence, amassing more than three billion streams and over 2.5 billion views on YouTube. His career highlights include sold-out performances at major venues such as Paris La Défense Arena, OVO Arena Wembley and ING Arena.
In November 2023, he made history as the first African solo artist to sell out Paris La Défense Arena, Europe’s largest indoor venue—cementing his status as a global performer.
To celebrate both the album release and his 20-year career milestone, Ipupa is set to headline two major concerts at Stade de France on 2 and 3 May. Additional tour dates across the UK, Europe and North America are expected to be announced later this year.
Beyond music, Ipupa continues to expand his impact through advocacy, serving as an ambassador for global organisations such as UNESCO and UNICEF.
