Apple hinted at three new products this week with fall launches rumored

Apple may have quietly revealed more about its upcoming hardware roadmap during this week’s developer announcements. New features and code references found in the latest versions of iOS and macOS appear to align with reports that three major products are being prepared for release later this year.

The strongest clues point toward Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone, which some reports have referred to as an “iPhone Ultra.” References within the latest iOS software reportedly include indicators related to fold states, display configurations, and device positioning, suggesting support for a foldable form factor. Additional updates aimed at landscape experiences and flexible app layouts could also support a device with multiple display modes.

Another product frequently linked to recent rumors is a touchscreen Mac notebook. Apple’s newest macOS release introduces several interface changes that appear more touch-friendly, including gesture-inspired interactions, expanded drawing capabilities, and larger interface targets. While Apple has not confirmed any touchscreen Mac plans, these software adjustments have fueled speculation that such hardware could arrive in the near future.

Home security camera

Among the many Apple Home products in the fall pipeline, Apple is rumored to have its own security camera coming.

Per Bloomberg, this “in-home, privacy centric security camera” will compete with third-party HomeKit cameras and support HomeKit Secure Video. Mark Gurman writes:

The device has facial recognition and infrared sensors to determine who is in a room. Apple believes users will place cameras throughout their home to help with automation. That could mean turning lights off when someone leaves a room or automatically playing music liked by a particular family member.

Recent reports suggest the device could feature advanced recognition technologies and deep integration with Apple’s smart-home ecosystem. Notably, the latest Home app updates place significant emphasis on HomeKit Secure Video enhancements, including support for higher-quality video streams. These changes have led observers to believe Apple may be preparing its software platform for a camera product of its own.

A Software Roadmap Hinting at Future Hardware

Apple often uses software updates to lay the groundwork for future devices, and this year’s developer announcements appear to be no exception. While none of the rumored products have been officially announced, the combination of new platform features, code discoveries, and industry reports has intensified expectations that Apple’s fall product lineup could include a foldable iPhone, a touchscreen MacBook, and a dedicated home security camera.
