Acer Googlebook 14 Unveiled With 3K OLED Display and Gemini AI
Acer has introduced the Acer Googlebook 14, a new premium 2-in-1 laptop designed around Google’s Gemini AI ecosystem and deeper integration with Android smartphones.
Announced on September 21, 2026, the Googlebook 14 represents Acer’s entry into Google’s new premium Googlebook category, combining a high-resolution OLED touchscreen, Intel Core Ultra processors and AI-focused software features in a lightweight convertible design.
Unlike traditional Chromebooks that have largely focused on affordability and simplicity, Googlebook is positioned as a more premium computing experience with advanced hardware, AI capabilities and closer connections between laptops and Android phones.
A Premium OLED Convertible
The Acer Googlebook 14 features a 14-inch WQXGA+ OLED display with a 2880 × 1800 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate.
The touchscreen supports USI 2.0-compatible styluses, making the laptop suitable for activities such as note-taking, sketching and creative work. Acer says the display delivers 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, up to 500 nits of brightness and VESA DisplayHDR True Black certification.
Its 360-degree hinge allows the device to be used in four different configurations: traditional laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes.
The laptop measures just 13.9mm thick and weighs approximately 1.14kg, giving it a relatively lightweight design for a 14-inch convertible computer.
Intel Core Ultra Processors and Up to 32GB RAM
Under the hood, the Googlebook 14 can be configured with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, including up to the Intel Core Ultra 7 355.
The processor includes Intel AI Boost technology, with the laptop offering up to 49 TOPS of NPU performance according to Acer’s product specifications.
Memory configurations go up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while storage can reach 512GB using a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD.
Acer is therefore targeting users who need more than basic web browsing, with the company highlighting multitasking, content creation and AI-assisted workflows among the laptop’s intended uses.
Gemini AI Takes Centre Stage
Artificial intelligence is one of the major selling points of the new Googlebook experience.
The Acer Googlebook 14 includes several Gemini-related features designed to reduce the number of steps involved in everyday tasks.
One of them is Magic Pointer, which Acer describes as a feature activated by moving the cursor in a specific way to bring up Gemini-powered assistance.
The laptop also includes enhanced voice dictation that can clean up spoken language by removing filler words and applying formatting to dictated text.
Another feature, Continue On, is designed to allow users to start certain tasks on a compatible Android phone and continue them on the Googlebook.
The system also supports Cast My Apps, which allows compatible Android phone applications to be accessed from the laptop without separately installing them on the computer.
12 Months of Google AI Pro Included
Acer is also offering 12 months of Google AI Pro with the Googlebook 14, subject to eligibility and regional terms.
The package provides expanded access to Gemini-related features as well as 5TB of cloud storage. Acer notes that the promotional offer is available only in selected markets and is subject to specific activation and redemption conditions.
Long Battery Life and Modern Connectivity
The laptop is equipped with a 71Wh battery and Acer rates it for up to 16 hours of web browsing or up to 14 hours of local video playback.
Fast charging is also supported, with Acer stating that the device can reach up to 80% capacity in about an hour.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, along with three USB-C ports. One of the ports supports Thunderbolt 4, while the others support USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity, DisplayPort and power delivery.
The laptop also features a 5MP webcam with noise reduction and a physical privacy shutter, alongside a triple-microphone array for video calls.
Built With Sustainability in Mind
Acer says the Googlebook 14 incorporates 49% circular materials and comes with packaging that is 99% plastic-free.
The device is also Energy Star 9.0 certified and has EPEAT registration, with registration status varying by country.
Price and Availability
The Acer Googlebook 14 starts at $899 in North America, with availability scheduled for October 2026.
Acer has also announced a starting price of €1,199 in EMEA and AUD 2,599 in Australia, although pricing and configurations can vary by market.
In the United States, Acer’s store lists a configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16GB LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD for $899.99. The retailer currently lists October 4, 2026 as the order date and October 5 as the beginning of shipping.
